Cheapest Intel Core i3 Processor i3-530 2.93GHz 4MB LGA1156 CPU BX80616I3530

When I saw the core i3-530, i ordered 4 for my office PC, thinking they would be great.
I also ordered 4 of the gigabyte H55m-USB3 and the Crucial 4GB DDR3. These combo were the highest performance @ lowest price I could find at the moment. This configuration was also recommended by [...] (probably the world's biggest PC review site).

However, I have come to realize a few shortcomings. The built-in graphic core outputs DVI-D only. DVI-D is digital only and does not work with older analog monitors. I found out the hard way, after I ordered 4 sets of DVI to D-SUB adapter, thinking it would work. Well, it does not work and this is not Intel's or Gigabyte's fault but those with older analog D-Sub monitors be aware. This prevents me from using DUAL MONITOR setups.

The second problem I found is that the memory controller is on-chip, but off-die. Intel went backwards with this to keep production cost low. You can check out [...] for performance reviews and you will see there is a 5~10% performance penalty because the memory controller is no longer integrated. This is not a big deal but 10% performance hit when I work with 12 hours of video editing translates into literally 1.2hours of extra time!!

This is great value for office PC and HTPC, but not for multimedia buffs and people with older analog d-sub monitors (you cannot use dual monitor setup with DVI-D to D-sub adapters)Get more detail about Intel Core i3 Processor i3-530 2.93GHz 4MB LGA1156 CPU BX80616I3530.
